Notice to the Local 118 Membership of Unionization of office employees

The office employees of Local 118 (Dispatch) have now applied to unionize with the Steelworkers union, officially known as the United Steel, Paper and Forestry, Rubber, Manufacturing, Energy, Allied Industrial and Service Workers International Union, Local 2009. The application for certification was made to the BC Labour Relations Board, under Section 18(1), Case No. 2025-000729E. You can learn more about Steelworkers Local 2009 at https://usw2009.ca/ 

A certification hearing was held June 10, 2025. The Local 118 Executive is looking forward to maintaining a cordial and professional relationship with the certified members of Steelworkers Local 2009. We hope all of the membership of Local 118 will join together to respect and support the Dispatch team in their wishes to certify and unionize.
