Her Royal Highness, Queen Elizabeth II, opened the
all-purpose Theatre that bears her name in July 1959. The
QE, as it is affectionately known, has been staffed by Local
118 ever since. It hosted its first Yellow Card attraction,
"My Fair Lady," in September 1959. The
Queen Elizabeth Playhouse, a smaller theatre adjacent to the QE opened in
1962. The Local's office is situated upstairs from these two
venues in the heart of downtown Vancouver. |
