| The Arts Club Theatre opened its first
theatre in 1964 and has been under contract with Local 118
since 1993. Today it operates three venues. Two of them are
situated on the popular tourist destination of Granville
Island: the Granville Island Stage, built in 1979, and the
New Revue Stage, built in 1983. In 1998, the Arts Club
extensively renovated The Stanley Theatre, a lovely former
movie house located about 10 minutes south of Granville
Island, and opened it as its premiere venue. The Arts Club
presents a full season at the Granville Island Stage and the
Stanley Theatre while the New Revue Stage has become the
home of Theatre Sports. |
